On February 18, 2010, Marva gave a talk and signed copies of her Victor Hugo on Things That Matter at the invitationof the Association France-Amériques (9, avenue Franklin Roosevelt, Paris). The group of French and Americans who attended “Going Beyond ‘Demain, dès l’aube . . . ‘: Love, life, and hope for Victor Hugo” included members of the co-sponsoring American Club of Paris.
The talk was a variation on one Marva gave to members of the Charlottesville, Virginia, Alliance Française on January 28, when she shared some of Hugo’s poems, along with insights she gained in creating her anthology introducing Hugo’s ideas.
